The Science
of AGLOE

Most beauty brands treat skin as a surface problem. Agloe treats it as a systems problem — because that's what the science demands.

One System. Inside and Out.

Skin health is not skin deep.

It is the visible output of interconnected biological systems: gut microbiome integrity, systemic inflammation, collagen synthesis, cellular turnover, and nutrient bioavailability.

Address only the surface and you address only the symptom. AGLOE is formulated to address the cause.

Inside — Nourishing the Foundation

The Gut–Skin Axis

The relationship between gut health and skin condition is one of the most robust findings in modern dermatological research. Intestinal permeability, dysbiosis, and chronic low-grade gut inflammation directly drive systemic inflammatory cascades — the same cascades that manifest as accelerated skin ageing, hyperpigmentation, impaired barrier function, and reduced collagen integrity.

Agloe's supplement formula targets this axis at its source, supporting gut microbiome diversity and intestinal barrier integrity — reducing the inflammatory burden that undermines skin health from within. Something no topical product can achieve alone.

"Address only the surface and you address only the symptom."
01

Gut Microbiome

Supports microbiome diversity through a synbiotic blend of prebiotics, probiotics and substrates that gently influence the balance of beneficial metabolites.

02

Cognitive Health

Agloe bridges the gut–brain axis, delivering targeted cognitive support alongside skin and gut nutrients. Because true wellbeing is not compartmentalised.

03

Bioavailability

Every ingredient is selected in forms that are optimally absorbed — not simply the cheapest available form.

Outside — The Problem

Why Most Skincare Doesn't Work

The skin is the body's largest organ, and its primary biological function is to keep things out. The stratum corneum is a densely packed structure of flattened dead cells embedded in a lipid matrix — often described as a "brick and mortar" architecture.

It is also extraordinarily effective at blocking skincare ingredients.

When you apply most skincare products, the active ingredients sit on the surface of the skin and are washed away. The skin beneath remains entirely unaffected — rendering most products largely inert regardless of the concentration of actives on the label.

"The molecular profile of an ingredient determines whether it can reach the skin that matters."

Outside — The Solution

Nanoliposome Encapsulation

Agloe's topical formulation uses a next-generation nanoliposome encapsulation system to solve the delivery problem at a molecular level. Nanoliposomes are lipid-based vesicles at the nanoscale — small enough to traverse the stratum corneum and transport active ingredients into the deeper dermal layers where they are needed.

By encapsulating retinoid esters within these structures, Agloe's formula bypasses surface over-stimulation, dispersing the active ingredient evenly and deeply. Pharmaceutical-grade penetration enhancers ensure every active reaches the dermal layer where it can have a measurable effect.

i.

Encapsulation

Active ingredients are encapsulated in lipid-based nanoscale vesicles, protecting them until delivery.

ii.

Traversal

The liposome fuses with the skin barrier, releasing actives into the deeper dermal layers — not just the surface.

iii.

Controlled Release

Deeper, even dispersal means greater collagen stimulation without the irritation of standard retinol.

iv.

Barrier Replenishment

The liposome itself remains behind, contributing phospholipids that reinforce the skin's own barrier structure.

The Retinoid Difference

Precision Without Compromise

Retinoids are the most evidence-backed active ingredient in anti-ageing dermatology. The clinical evidence for their role in promoting collagen synthesis, improving skin thickness and density, accelerating cellular turnover, and supporting skin clarity is unmatched.

The problem has always been delivery. Conventional retinoid formulations penetrate only the superficial layers of the epidermis — over-stimulating the upper layers while the deeper layers, where collagen synthesis actually occurs, remain under-stimulated.

Conventional vs. Agloe

Standard retinol

– Surface stimulation only

– Dryness, irritation, flaking

– Thins the epidermis over time

– Increased sun sensitivity

Multi-Modal Formula

Every Active Where It Counts

Agloe's formulation incorporates pharmaceutical-grade penetration enhancers alongside the nanoliposome delivery system, ensuring every active ingredient reaches the dermal layer where it can have a measurable effect.

Our marine-derived bioactives represent one of the most exciting frontiers in evidence-based skincare. Marine organisms have evolved under conditions of extreme oxidative stress and UV exposure, producing unique bioactive compounds with demonstrable anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and skin-renewal properties.

Our formulation works across multiple pathways:

The Agloe Difference

Inside and outside.
Together.

The beauty industry is crowded with products that rely on marketing over mechanism. Agloe is built on a different premise: that efficacy is non-negotiable, that delivery determines outcome, and that skin health cannot be separated from whole-body health.
